About Flinstone and Dimatra

Flinstone has been around for 35 years and specializes in traction and transport of general goods. Paul and Marina De Mey's company has a fleet of 34 vehicles and employs around forty people. Dimatra is located on the same site, where Paul and Marina De Mey are also managers. Dimatra mainly does container transport with its own fleet of 8 vehicles. The addition of Dimatra to the Xwift portfolio extends Xwift's services to Reefer containers.

Strategic reasons for the Acquisition

Both companies are located on a site of approximately 35,000 m² on the Skaldenstraat in the Ghent Seaport. This offers interesting opportunities for Xwift: the East-Flemish group already has its own offices in Deinze, Lokeren and Mouscron but is now getting access to the Ghent port zone, with a cross-dock warehouse of 5000 people and parking space for around 150 trailers. “At this strategic location, we will both install our own trailers and rent out part of the space to external parties,” says CEO Pieter Denys.

Impact on the Xwift Group

After this takeover, the Xwift group consists of more than 300 employees with a total turnover of 52 million euros.
