Xwift takes over Transport Vercauteren

Xwift has taken over transport company Vercauteren from Lokeren. It is the twelfth external growth operation for the Nazareth company in three years.

History of Vercauteren

Transport Vercauteren was founded in 1974 by André Vercauteren and has 25 employees. The current managers had no succession and were looking for a sustainable solution to secure the family business's future.

Strategic reasons for the Acquisition

CEO Pieter Denys explains:
“Vercauteren has been a reliable player in dedicated transport for years, with logistical services such as repackaging and relabeling as an additional asset. The takeover decision follows a successful partnership through Flinstone, a previously acquired transport company. Thanks to the proximity to top customer Volvo Trucks and the synergy with Flinstone, we reduce empty kilometers and strengthen our integrated approach. This represents a valuable extension of the range within the Xwift group.”

Impact on the Xwift Group

The Vercauteren team is moving to the Xwift site in Desteldonk.Bart Vercauteren, business manager, will remain active for a few more months.After the takeover, Xwift counts:

  • 1,000 employees
  • 825 towing vehicles
  • 135 million euro consolidated turnover
